This may be a necropost at this point, but I have officially confirmed two things.(1) If you are at Grand Central buying a ticket from GCT-Fordham, the ticket machines list Fordham as a Harlem and New Haven stop. If you are at Grand Central buying a ticket from GCT-125, the machines list 125 as a stop on all three lines. (2) When a northbound New Haven train stopped at 125th, the automated system on board proceeded to make the following announcement: This station is Harlem 125th Street. This is the train to Stamford. The next station is Fordham. The sole purpose of such an announcement is to alert northbound passengers for 125th and Fordham of their stations. If there were no passengers bound for those stations, such an announcement would be unnecessary. As such, I think we can definitively conclude that it is not a violation of any MTA rule to ride a New Haven train within New York City. |
