Glad I got to ride these in SI that one summer 66 or 67.Would have liked to have ridden these on the BMT, but didn't for same reason never rode C-Types or gate cars on Myrtle prior to 1958 - my family didn't have Brooklyn roots. :( Parents were transplants from upstate NY - loved city (Manhattan), but wanted space & so moved out to Queens after Korean War: to garden apts. at intersection of Hillside/Manor Rd./Springfield Blvd. My mom's relatives on Kent St. Brooklyn (that's when my parents used the W's'burg bridge trolley terminal), had moved out by that time. My Dad's crony from dental school lived way south of Flatbush & we took the Belt when visiting them. |
