However, the alternative is economic sclerosis. Economies that prioritize job security over everything else ironically and tragically are the ones that fail to produce jobs over the long run. The MTA already gets buku amounts of funding and is at the breaking point. Personally, I'd stop short of mass layoffs but certainly suggest moving away from pension plans and having employees put more money into their healthcare. |
