After the official use of marker lights was stopped, there was a dewatering project on Lenox Ave that caused a unique reroute of #2 trains via Lex against the direction of traffic in peak periods. In the AMs, all S/B 2s ran normally via Lenox and 7 Av and N/B trains ran via Lex. around noon, the service was reversed and N/B 2s ran via 7 Av and Lenox and S/B 2s ran via Lex. Since the color coding for 7 Av was red and lex was green, the District Gen Supt issued a bulletin that 2s operating via Lex would carry 2 green markers and 2s operating via 7 Av would remain with the red markers. It could have been during that operation that you observed other than red/red markers. |
