One morning in 1967 when I was working Tower 1 at ENY, a train of R-16s from the Bway Bkln Lcl was coming up from E/Pky into Atlantic Av. At the top of the hill, one of the motor generator/blower sets exploded and a thick cloud of red smoke came out from under the car. With where the train was, I thought that it would probably block both the Bway Bkln line and the 14 St Line but the train was able to proceed into Atlantic and clear both lines. |
