I'm still trying to figure out what "57th Street station at Eighth Avenue" that they are talking about.There's a 59th Street station at Avenue and Columbus Circle that has a long pedestrian passageway ending about 57th Street with entrances to the street, but that same station also has entrances about 60th Street and Central Park West, and about 59th Street. The #1, A, B, C and D line stop there. I remember the station from the mid-1970's with the New York Coliseum because that was the nearest subway station to my high school. I mean I know that there's a 57th Street station at Seventh Avenue next to Carnegie Hall with an entrance on 55th Street, and a 57th Street station at Sixth Avenue that opened mid-1968. I really hate to think that I've missed a station in that area.(Smile) Mike |
