Interesting that his boss (MTA VP) is defending him.Reread the quote: Derick Echevarria, vice president of stations for the Transit Workers Union, was stunned by Goodwin’s arrest. “He’s an exemplary employee ... not a passenger complaint in the past 20 years,” Echevarria said of Goodwin. “It’s a misunderstanding on the police’s part.” Echevarria said the 57th St. station is extremely busy and Goodwin has his hands full. Cops receive MetroCards so they can swipe themselves into train stations if needed, the union rep added. “(Goodwin’s) a hardworking guy who does his job and does it properly,” he said. “He has other parts of the job than opening the gate for people who have a card to swipe themselves in.” |
