The tram for such a fixture is a “bank of lights” but many employees referring to them spoke in such a pseudo illiterate form of English pronouncing the term “bank o’ lights which eventually morphed into “banker“ lights. Instead of the intelligent people correcting the mispronouncers, they caved and started using the wrong name for those items. When you see a set of those lights on the wall, what you are seeing is a “BANK OF LIGHTS." If you have the intelligence, don’t dumb down, to the level of the illiterates but smarten them up instead. |
