That would be too confusing for the much higher number of riders who use the M in Manhattan and North Queens versus the riders who use the A in South Queens. It's why the W was put back into service - it would have been confusing to have the Q going to both 2nd Avenue and Astoria (along with keeping the N local full time in Manhattan).And why can't a similar argument be made that the letter T "belongs" to any service running on the 2nd Ave Line in the same vein that M "belongs" to any service operating out of Metro? |
