Here the train is passing by about 12 minutes after departing the Ft. Worth Stockyards. The Montgomery Plaza building in the background is the former Montgomery Wards warehouse that opened for business in 1929 on the day the stock market crashed. It closed in the late 1970's and about 8 years ago it was converted into condos:
Passing me and entering Forest Park heading southbound to Cresson:
After heading to Saginaw for some shots I headed back to Ft. Worth to catch the special on its way back to the Stockyards. Here it's crossing the Trinity River just west of downtown Ft. Worth, seen in the background. The kayakers are getting quite a view! Earlier in the week I was on the other bank of the river taking pictures:
Tomorrow the train heads to parts north and that's it until next year. It's been a fun week!
