WMATA had a similar issue at the point where the bored tunnels south of Union Station met the cut and cover tunnels under E Street. It was discovered that the center line of the tunnel segments were off by 2". Adjustments were made during track laying.There have been multiple incidents where the feeler car made contact with track side fixtures protruding into the load gauge envelope.
