"Scratch that, most of the spots are now permit parking ..."Scratch that, in Baldwin, at least, ALL of the spots are permit parking 6 AM to 1 PM Monday- Friday, which is nothing more than an obvious money-grab by the Town of Hempstead to chase away imaginary out-of-town residents, and mussels and clams from the south. The spaces are all usually filled anyway by 9 AM, even after the permit program started, and few of them are worth even a nickel as they are a long hike from the station. I absolutely refuse to cave in to such extortion; we already pay high enough taxes as it is.
