Passengers are saying the train didn't slow down at all. Which may be an exaggeration. I'm sure if they took those switches at 25MPH it might've felt like a lot faster. This raises the question of what the conductor was doing. He of all people should have been aware of the speed and could have pulled the emergency brake.
