I get the sense that the graffiti came out all at once. Pics right through 1971 show graffiti-free cars, 1972 show some here and there, and like you say, by 1973, it was sadly universal.Born in '68, I do not remember the pre-graffiti days. It seemed natural to me as a kid, as I had only remembered the subway like that. Once it was gone, I was amazed!! |
