Harlem River is the same as the East River?My honorable friend Tunnelrat is mistaken. The East River is a tidal strait connecting Long Island Sound with New York Bay. The Harlem River was a true river that connected with the East River at Hell Gate and ran north to Spuyten Duyvil Creek. About 1895 or so the Harlem Ship Canal was built connecting the Hudson River with the Harlem River. Larry,RedbirdR33 |
