In its original form, Sullivan Square Terminal contained 10 tracks for trolleys and one elevated track for the El trains. The lower level contained a double track loop for trolleys. The alterations made in 1912 included a new inbound loading platform for El trains and a new loop for trolleys.

Immediately behind the Terminal was car shop building, which maintained El cars on the upper level and trolley cars on the lower level.
