The current arrangement increases dwell times and also encourages passengers on the train to cluster near the doors (if you don't, when you reach your station you'll be so far from the doors that it may be difficult to exit).The only thing increasing dwell times is the lack of rolling stock. Put more trains out on the railroad and you will have fewer standing passenger aboard the trains. Few standing passengers equals fewer passenger discharging the trains. More trains out on the railroad also equals fewer passenger waiting on platforms to board the trains. Increasing the number of trains is equal to putting 8.5 lbs of sand into 36 10 lb bags instead of 10 lbs of sand into 24 10 lb bags. John in the sand box of Maryland's eastern shore. |
