Except that NYCT runs the slowest subway system in the country by average speed despite having lengthy express runs. Clearly despite railfan handwringing there is no detriment to the schedule in following the 1960s/70s UMTA model of two tracks and higher performance rolling stock. Quite the opposite in fact. |
