I'm pretty sure SubChat is run on a commercial server in lower Manhattan; it was offline for weeks after Sandy and I'm pretty sure the location of the server was explicitly mentioned as a factor.If it was offline for several weeks, how did you post on Nov. 4, 2012? $500 per year for virtually no effort is great profit We're talking gross, not profit. And there is definite effort involved. He has to repack the database quite a few times per year. And he has to read lots of emails from users. And he has to read posts to see if someone's conduct is so egregious that it deserves banishment. |
