Posted by Lou From Middletown NY on Wed Jul 20 21:15:56 2016 As opposed to transit. My two nominees:the Princeton Dinky: The obvious one. 3 miles, two stations. Has the official record for the shortest commuter run. Always seems to be on the threatened list, lets hope it stays! The only other possible choice are the weekend Secaucus shuttles that NJT runs about 10 minutes ahead of the 'suggested' connections in the NJT timetables for the Main/Bergen and PV lines. It's NOT listed in any printed TTs, or on the website. It is probably further from NYP to SEC than the Princeton run, but it is an oddity and begs a few questions/guesses: One has to assume that consist/crew just came in fron a NEC/NJCL/RV run Since the PJL weekend scheds are very skimpy, MNR helps pay for it? Why the secrecy? The only way you find out about it, if you aren't aware of it, is the boards at NYP or Departure Vision showing it. In any respect, its as much of an oddity as the Dinky.... |
