Keystone #660 picked us up 15 minutes late at 8:10AM. Rain is forcast for the entire day but trains DO run in the rain:

The Sprinter shut off twice on the way to Philly putting us about an hour behind. We changed equipment sets at 30th St.

We view the new cat poles going up to raise the speed limit to 150 between New Brunswick & just west of Hamilton NJ. It stops raining right around this location:

We were then informed that Noo Yawk would be reached at 11:30. We hatch a plan to still try & pull this off on our way east but its gonna be tight. At NYP we take the 2 subway direct to 125th & walk to the Metro North station:

We shoot a few before boarding the 1:12 for Stamford & the New Canaan:

We are late into Stamford but because I slow everybody down to shoot the Acela we MISS THE TRAIN:

So we shoot some action:

And do a group photo:

Before hopping on a Grand Central express around 2:30, putting us back on the original schedule. So we walk across GCT:

For the usual tremendous seafood dinner at the Oyster Bar...we were gonna scrap this when we had to back the plan off an hour:

We found out on the way up that the Shuttle was not running so we catch the 7 for Times Square:

& transfer to get to NYP:

Keystone #669 starts loading around 5PM so we shoot an Amtrak Empire Service GE:

Before boarding our third 1960s era cab car of the day to return to Philly & Lancaster:

We end the day with an on time arrival...in the rain:

If we can get in 90% of the plan on one of these it is a good trip (which it was) but it still bothers me a little that I BLEW IT by not paying attention. But we got another idea for riding the elusive New Canaan :o)
