Although most railfans do refer to it as “South 4th St” it’s highly possible that the station might have ultimately been called “Union Ave” if built since that is the thoroughfare it crosses. I have seen PSC reports on the building of the IRT and BMT that indicate names for stations that were planned but had different names when actually built. |
