Metro would be wise to store them for a few years.Extruded aluminum is going for just under $2,000 ton. Like I said further up the thread, "128 are needed for the both phases of the Silver line. Me thinks WMATA will hold off on scrapping in mass until they have put those into services and an equal number to replace the cars that have already been scrapped do to damage or removed from service for use by others."
