You've got 20 tph of people coming through the 14th street tunnel in the morning rush hour. No solution can possibly accommodate most of them through a single track. Stephen has even proposed 20 trains inbound all in a row followed by pulling them all back out and starting all over. That increases capacity but creates other very ugly crowding problems. |
