I haven't analyzed the actual numbers for 2015 yet, but I would say from my observation as motorman through the operating season, average seat occupancy was about 70%. Its not uncommon on busier days that the trolley is full all day with people turned away from lack of seats.We've debated extending operations into Summer evenings when the restaurant crowd is in Downtown, and adding Friday evenings, but we can't get the volunteers to sustain a schedule at those times. In earlier years there was persistent parking on the tracks in the evenings, but thanks to better signage and metered parking (except in the museum's own free lot), cars on the tracks are much less common. |
