Operatins planning will send out its staff of traffic checkers to assess the ridership volume and then forward the results to scheduling for appropriate action. If ridership warrants, then the W could be resurrected. The way you are describing it, it seems that Astoria ridership is approaching levels of Qns Blvd and as high as Astoria ridership make have gotten, I find it hard to believe that it is anywhere near Qns Blvd levels. Also, where is the ridership coming from. I don’t recall seeing any major building taking place along that corridor since the time when 8 car trains of 60 footers operated there so I don’t understand why 600 ft trains with a decreased headway couldn’t handle the loads. |
