You raise a valid concern. It's debatable. Let me explain:

The Railfan in me just loves this stuff. I've volunteered at three Museums and enjoyed every bit of it. The hands on experience, the history of the Subway, being able to share my hobby with others....It's a wonderful thing! When I posted the info it was with the intent of being able to share with others my passion, my enthusiasm. Railfans like myself will soak it all in. I want to know where this old train is going! What route, what time, what equipment is involved. The info was intended to be useful for those that like to see the old gals on the move.

I think that I wanted to bring exposure to the preservation movement. The persons involved with the operation of the old equipment and those that maintain it should be commended for their dedication; for without these folks cars like 381 would still be sitting in dead storage at Coney Island Yard waiting for the big day when it finally turned a wheel! Hey, if you see someone operating the Excursion Train (or others), thank 'em! They helped to bring life back to a piece of the past.

As a dedicated Worker for which I am, I may need to reconsider my stance on posting information such as this. I certainly don't intend to step on anyone's toes and I don't want ANYONE stepping on mine! If revealing the Holiday Train's routing was a bad thing, then I probably shouldn't have disclosed information about the BMT Celebration.

I'll close with this: Is routing information a top secret thing? I guess it depends on who you speak to!

FYI, I'm not upset about this....Just thinking very loudly right about now.
