One train is happy that you were sensitive enough to take its picture and maybe lift some of its historically most important parts, the other unhappy that you broke in and changed a roll sign. Only trains don't have emotions nor do they provide consent.There are a lot of risky and legally questionable things about this hobby when looked at from the outside. I'd bet that you and everyone else on this board has trespassed on more than one occasion often despite knowing that you were in fact trespassing. Most have also climbed on equipment, maybe snuck into a cab or two. I and several other people I know operated trains, passenger and freight, as a teenager - sometimes with people on board but with the ok from a friendly employee. I know railfans who wrote graffiti, others who went down into the tunnels to explore. They all wanted to be around trains in one form or fashion and now all of them are in the rail industry. I'm not questioning anyone's motivation. You on the other hand seem to know that the motivation of these kids is to 'hurt' trains. How do you know this? You disagree with their actions, ok, say that you disagree but don't make presumptions about motivations. |
