The Charles-MGH extension has been planned for a long time. Will the Gov't. Center rebuild include entrances on Charles St. that are closer to Bowdoin's location, to warrent its closure?Having lived in Boston, & walked between Gov't. Center and Bowdoin, I know how near to each other they are. But, it will be too bad if they do close Bowdoin, because though close to Gov't. Center, I would think there's enough of a daily population density quite close to this station (phone company, Lindemann Ctr., City Hall etc.) to keep it open, at least during the day/rush hours. That way, the entering rush hour crowds would not all be funneled to Gov't Center, with the pop. further north having access to Bowdoin. Do you know if the MBTA has researched daily passenger use of Bowdoin and found the entering numbers are quite low, even during rush hour? |
