Me thinks the Triplex will probably be the designated GIFT SHOP at 2nd Av. It would stay behind while the 9's do their runs to Queens Plaza.While they list 6095 here, it could be a typo of sorts. 6112 has the modified electric portion for compatibility with the 9's. Unless there's some other plan in the works, 6112 will probably be out there. It seems to make some sense with the planned activities. The only other question I have is will the 9's be a shorter train? I'm unable to determine that. I envision seven 60 foot cars instead of the usual 8 as the D type would likely be part of the move from 207th St to 2nd Av. Doing some math --- 8 60 foot R9's plus 1 137 foot D type = 617 feet, 17 feet longer than a regular 600 foot revenue train; 7 60 foot R9's plus 1 137 foot D Type = 557 feet, would make the platform with no issue. Anyone else who knows more about this is welcome to chime in, as I am merely offering an opinion at this point. -Stef |
