I remember the first time I saw a Q car.I rode my Schwinn 26" wheel with the spring shock absorbers down 69st from Woodside to Metropolitan Ave. made the right to the Station & saw two sets of Q's from the street, on each side of the wooden platform. I says to myself what the heck are those things with the ugly roofs, door extention slats & filthy windows. Found out much later why the cars looked that way & what a simple & durable car that was.They were long gone from the Flushing line before I arrived. |
