I remember those horrid colors. Got told by one of the guys at 207 paint shop that the city got a helluva deal on puke green institutional paint and deck gray from Navy surplus, and supposedly the paint for the els came from another surplus lot of paint at the time. When I came out as a conductor, they were still handing out the (ta) badges for that, when I moved up to motors, it was a meatball badge. I loved the old (ta) logo ... But this just wasn't right. Heh.
