Cleon Jones supposedly said, "Come on down, baby, come on down," as he waited for Davey Johnson's game-ending fly ball to wind up in his glove. I still remember Curt Gowdy proclaiming, "The Mets are the world champions!" Then they cut to Gil Hodges in the dugout instead of the players rushing out to greet Jerry Koosman. |
