NO! a thousand times no. People trade commute time for less astronomical rents while still living in the city. Gouging them on fares for these long rides is evil IMHO. It was a ripoff when I lived in the East Village; MABSTOA and the then private Ave B & E B'way buses cost me a separate fare to get "out" to a subway line, and the same when the Rockaway line cost asecond fare. |
