The CBE is a disaster even today, for example, and could have been done differently. I would have liked to see a Mid-Manhattan Expressway (at least), but also an above-ground Union Station where all diesel trains could terminate without having to worry about "dual mode" nonsense and which could be shared with electric trains. It's more Moses' opposition to rail that he gets criticism for, and his big-government approach rather than free market. |
