Eastbound Norfolk Southern oil train 66Z was worth shooting on Sunday so I went out for 3 hours on Sunday morning, starting at Wyomissing Junction. After the eastbound 24T:

And westbound 11J:

Norfolk Southern takes speed way down around the greater Reading area for oil trains like 66Z, making multiple photo stops pretty easy if you know your way around. Down to about 15MPH or so nearing Wyomissing Junction:

CP BELT is reached easily but we are losing the sun:

As the train gains some speed on the Blandon low grade the next good stop I can reach is the fill at Willow Creek Rd. in Laureldale:

There is a gang at the Guldin Rd. crossing but lucky me has permission to access Maier's Grove just west of the crossing. If you can get up on that tree stump you get above the bushes for this view:

Reading Yard bound 35Z was waiting to head down the Low Grade so after the LV GE went by I went back to the Willow Creek location. If I have some time I'm gonna do some Jungle Patrol on that growth on the hillside:

Not bad for 2-1/2 hours of train chasing! Now off to the PA German Festival at Kutztown for some serious German Brats & Apflestrudel :o)
