Funny sitting here in the heat looking at people in winter clothes :). Thanks for another good photo tour Mike. The Doylestown line was not that familiar to me.

Some technical trivia. In the album, the tank at the top of the Lansdale substation transformer is an oil expansion tank. Warm up from winter cold to full load causes quite a change. Nowadays they are called conservator tanks because ways have been devised to minimize the oil's moisture absorption from the air breathing into the tank at cool down. I think the connections to this tank might be the source of the oil stains you spotted at the bottom of the transformer.

The shot of the motor operator for the Lansdale DA3 section switch is a good illustration. If the control power or control signals fail, the right lever can be used to decouple the motor's gears. Then the crank hung around the top left (tubular handle) can be engaged and used to hand operate the switch. Virtually all the same design thoughts that go into a track switch motor …but not ruggedized enough to hit with dragging equipment. S&C Electric is a major maker of utility disconnecting switches. This PDF appears to be the motor operator you photographed.
