Air brakes are compatible, but not a true MU set up.Some years ago, I had the chance to operate as the second T/O on the Lo-9 train with Lou from Brooklyn up front. Was an interesting experience operating with 5466 going towards Short Beach and 1689 going back to Avenue L. The purpose of the second train operator was to make sure the cars could get up the grade further down the line. I only applied power, didn't touch the brake! -Stef |
