A "philosophical objection"? Why? If it works and is easily implemented, why not do it wherever it might help improve safety? What is the objection? Engineers are supposed to be observing the speed limits already. Why would doing this "slow down the entire railroad" any more than it needs to be slowed down in these specific spots?
