Broadway: Sometimes it is hard to credit your comments.You're an intelligent man. I can only assume that its early in the morning and you haven't had your porridge yet. Our government is not perfect. It never was and never will be. Its a work in progress. No man or state is an island onto itself We depend upon each other. Minot AFB is located in your home state of North Dakota. It employs over five thousand military and several hundred civilian workers. The base requires a lot of food and supplies which in turn create jobs and puts money into the local economy. Is this welfare? We could close the base. One base more or less won't make much difference. The economic impact to the community would be devastating. Are you prepared to make it up? The point is that this base is run by the same government that you damm. I don't know your past history but I have lived in a dictatorship where you did not criticize the government in word or deed. You might have landed in jail for your comments or just simply disappeared. America is only as perfect or imperfect as we make it. If you don't like our government I suggest that you do something to change it. Get out and vote, organize political action committees, take out notices in the newspapers but don't sit home and blame the guys in Washington for your troubles. Larry, RedbirdR33 |
