That is possible, however:You have to wonder if given what had happened to two other trains (one AMTRAK, the other SEPTA) in the same area within 10-15 minutes before the accident. I'm beginning to think It's very likely the Train Operator of 188 was aware of what happened in the minutes leading up the accident and if he was speeding up, it could have been because he may have seen something that suggested someone was about to throw something at that train. I would not be surprised if we find out this to have been the case. It's also possible he had a medical condition happen, especially since that was one of the first things I thought of as possible (though I was think more along the lines of a heart attack or the like). |
