You don't have to emulate Mao's China to ride a bike. For many years, I biked to the supermarket if not walking to the closer one, often biked to jobsite after most of the tools and parts were there for a long project, or to BART to take on the far end for further travel. None of this was ideological; it was both convenient and pleasant. |
