In the grand scheme of things, Fairfield County is nowhere near as big a center of reverse commuting as White Plains. But it is significant. The morning trains to Stamford are fairly full. There is a reason why there are 9 outbound NH trains between 6:59 and 8:10 instead of the usual 4 trains per hour of mid-day. More of those would run deadhead if they didn't have a need to carry passengers.Note by the way that there are roughly the same number of outbound Harlem line trains in the AM rush. |
