Those gears sounds were quite literally music to my ears. I was mesmerized by them. Let's face it - I had to have something to take my mind off of leaving Indiana, and those old timers were just what the doctor ordered. My mother liked to joke that I forgot all about South Bend after one subway ride on our first visit to NYC two weeks after moving to Jersey 48 years ago at this time. |
