IIRC the last subway car order that had double bonnet destination signs (R-38?) had on the roll 6th Ave under the big F on the smaller window, long after 6th Ave was officially re-named Avenue of the Americas. Seems like nobody noticed & no one cared inasmuch no one said that the sign was wrong. |
