You got my wheels turning. I was thinking somewhere along those lines as well.

This was my point about using 6095ABC, they are IN the Museum and should probably be the ones to be utilized as they don't appear as worn out as the other two units (appearances may be deceiving though, the only people who know about the condition of the vintage equipment are folks who work with it). However, I'm all for using 6112ABC if it gets the set the work it needs and functional once again.

There are my opinions ONLY, but since 6112ABC hasn't been out much over the course of 10 years, RTO may need some insurance. 100, 484, and 1575 ran with a diesel locomotive when that group made its run for the first time in many years. The Lo-V's prior to the 2004 celebration ran with an electric locomotive during testing as they remained at Coney Island Yard mostly inactive following the 1998 RPC Fan Trip (roughly 6 years). So here's what I propose:

A locomotive can take 6112ABC from 207 to Hoyt St, and the loco is uncoupled once the consist gets to the platform. The loco can either be left at the end of the platform by the Home Signal if it faces the Rockaway end OR if there's room on the IRT side of the platform at the TM, store it in front of the SMEEs. 6112ABC will be free to run back and forth.

I am merely proposing a scenario which doesn't necessarily mean it will occur; only the RTO Supervisor in Charge of the Train and Shop Personnel can say for sure as to what will be done. I'm an outsider just speculating at this point. For anyone who wants answers, attend the Museum Festivities or show up at Hoyt St that day.

Respectfully,
Stef
