Back in the late 60's and early 70's, you could rent a "party car" which would end up as the 11th car on a train. When I was a conductor back in 1970, I got to "chaperone" one of them for Clay Felker's New York Magazine Christmas party. Booze was served in a similar style and the car was all decked out for Christmas. We did a round trip from West 4th out to Euclid and back.Motorman had some adventures on the return trip since there weren't any 11 car markers past each station. :) |
