Federal funded acquisitions are mostly "buy American" NYS acquisitions give extra weight to "NY content" Kawasaki, Alstom, Bombardier, and CAF are in NY for one or both of those reasons. Novabus and now its sister company Prevost are in Plattsburgh, and Orion was in Oriskany the same way. Prototyping can be overseas, depending on the specific contract, it's build and assemble here, or shell comes in by ship and assembly is here. |
