The 5:39 does run through the Central branch. So we can assume that the train was re-routed over the Babylon branch to reduce main line congestion or it went via the Central Branch and was delayed by congestion caused by eastbound trains tying up the main line so the LIRR couldn't use the Eastbound track for westbound peak service. |
