Did the Lex have lower ridership because the Myrtle was scheduled for more service?

If the Lex was scheduled for less service, with longer headways, (except during the rush hour?), than wouldn't people have felt less inclined to use it, walking west to the Mrytle or the IND?

If the Lex had had better service, I wonder if it would have lasted longer?

Although, if largly residential - I drove through there a few years ago, many small apartment buildings (maybe not that much comparative population density?), could that have been the reason for low ridership rather than lack of constant service?
